Hi there! ððž Have you been good at letting go of control lately?
Well... I haven't. ðĪŠ
With all of the final book publishing stuff going on, I've been holding onto the reins pretty tightly.
As I was telling Chad last night, it's funny how I often try to control everything when I'm dealing with a new situation in which I have no idea what the heck I'm doing. ð
Can you relate?
How often do we resist life in the midst of stressful circumstances when we could just go with the flow and allow life to provide us with all the resources we need to accomplish our tasks?
For me, I tend to resist life by putting a timeline on things.
I get very attached to my timeline, but life often has other plans for the timing of things.
Where are you strangling life and trying to get it to fit neatly inside the box that you've made for it?
Where are you trying to control your life and stressing your body out in the process?
I notice that I'm putting a lot of effort into controlling things when my stomach feels tight and my jaw is clenched.
When you notice that you are stressed about something, simply become aware of how your body is feeling and take a deep breath into your belly.
Breathe out the stress.
Relax your shoulders.
Relax your face and jaw muscles.
Open your hands to receive and whisper, "I surrender".
I've had to do this about a thousand times this week, because I still think that my plans are the best. ð
I think I can wrestle a problem to the ground and kill it.
But in my resistance to life, my body is getting so tired, and my tummy doesn't feel so good.
In what area of your life can you let go of control today?
Where do you need to surrender and just go with the flow?
I encourage you to release the timeline in which you think things need to be done and just focus on the next step in front of you.
Don't try to plan out the next 50 steps.
Just take it one step at a time, breathe, and surrender as many times as you need to.
Take a walk if you want to clear your head.
Focus on the things that you love about your life.
Do more things you enjoy.
Relax. ð
I needed this reminder today, and I hope that it helps you in whatever situation you're dealing with right now.
Much love to you,
Amber
