Happy Friday! 🙂 Today we're going to talk about taking inspired action.
In my last letter (here), I encouraged you to visualize one of your big dreams coming true and to feel the feelings that you will experience when this dream comes true.
I also talked about taking a step in the direction of your dream- engaging in inspired action.
My family and I took a tour of a $500,000 piece of land near Cobb Lake yesterday, and we gained clarity on our dream of building a lake house.
We realized that we would prefer to live in an area with no HOA where we have freedom to do whatever we want to do on our property.
We drove to the neighborhood across the lake with no HOA where we saw this beautiful view of the lake with the mountains in the distance (pictured above).
That area felt like freedom, spaciousness, beauty, and peace- all of the things that we're looking for.
I want you to think about your big dream.
Whatever that dream is, life will guide you to take steps that feel exciting and often scary.
This is inspired action.
Writing and publishing a book is exciting and also scary for me.
Putting my heart and soul out into the world in this way feels very vulnerable.
I'm opening myself up to judgment and criticism, and that's not comfortable.
Your journey to your dream might not be comfortable either.
It might stretch you to your limit.
It might take you on a rollercoaster of emotions.
This is why you have to have a burning desire to see this dream come true.
This desire will carry you through the fear, the frustration, the impatience, the letting go of things, and the thoughts of giving up.
I want to be clear that inspired action is not forcing yourself to do something that you really don't want to do on the way to your dreams but rather taking a step that feels adventurous, thrilling, and possibly terrifying.
It might feel like you're about to take a skydive.
The thought of stabbing myself with needles in order to have another baby felt absolutely terrifying to me.
I even put a stop to our IVF process for awhile, because I was so afraid to take that next step.
However, my desire to hold our baby boy was so strong that it carried me through the scary parts of our surrogacy journey.
A burning desire gives you strength that you didn't know you had.
It will help you grow in ways that you never thought possible.
You will do things that you never imagined yourself doing.
Your confidence level will increase 1,000,000% when you take those big leaps in the direction of your dreams.
Yes, it might feel like skydiving sometimes, but in those moments, your faith in yourself and in life becomes exponentially stronger.
You don't know the outcome of the inspired action before you take it, but you trust that it will move you closer to your dream.
Sometimes inspired action simply gives you clarity about what you don't want in your life, and that is also a tremendous gift.
If you are still waiting to take the next step toward your dream, what are you waiting for?
Are you afraid of the unknown?
Are you waiting for the perfect timing that may never come?
Are you waiting until you have all the money that you think you'll need?
Are you waiting until your desire for this thing becomes so strong that you can't ignore it anymore?
Whatever you are waiting for, just be honest with yourself and decide if it's a reason that's worth keeping yourself from your dream.
Just like my mentor encouraged us to take inspired action on our dream of owning a lake house, I am encouraging you to take a step (even a tiny baby step) in the direction of your big dream this weekend.
See where that little step takes you.
Please share with me the inspired action that you decide to take.
I'm cheering you on! 🎉
Much love to you,
Amber
