embracing the seasons of life

May 10, 2024

Good morning!

We're back from our trip to Great Wolf Lodge, and I am happier than ever to be home. 💜

I promised you that we would get back to my notes from the Abraham seminar (and we will), but today I feel like there's something more important for me to share with you.

I don't know about you, but my body has been going through all kinds of changes lately.

As much as I would love to feel strong, energetic, healthy, secure, and sexy in my body every single day, that's not always the season of life that my body and I are in.

Have you recently experienced things in your body (i.e. hormone changes, an illness/condition, or a loss of any kind) that you're trying to resist?

Today I invite you to begin embracing the seasons of life and resting in them rather than resisting them.

Your body, in all of its wisdom, leads you through different seasons to make sure that you're getting time for rest and renewal.

Sometimes you're thrown into a season when intense contrast, sickness, or loss occurs.

Even though most of us would love to live in summer all the time where we're feeling energetic, superhuman, capable of creating all kinds of awesome things in our lives, and full of fun, our bodies would burn out.

If we are constantly expending loads of energy without resting and refueling, we can't be our most joyful selves.

When we're out doing all kinds of things in the world, it's easy to forget who we are underneath all the needs, feelings, and opinions of others.

The hidden magic in each winter season of your life is the stillness from which arises the remembrance of who you are as the Source of everything that surrounds you.

Coming back home to yourself by embracing the slower and more uncertain seasons of life allows you to release all the heavy stuff that isn't you so you can return to the world with a new sense of lightness and joy and a clearer sense of who you are.

When you notice that you're tempted to resist your body's urge to rest, see if you can intentionally slow down your pace a bit and start surrendering to what is.

Use this time to pamper your body and to focus on all the things that you love about your life even if you have no idea what the future holds.

In the hibernating seasons of life, we often find that there is so much to love in the stillness.

I love the peace, quiet, love, and space that arises inside my own personal cave when I'm experiencing an inner winter.

It's a deeper peace than I experience when I'm constantly going, going, going.

Does the winter season sometimes leave you feel lonely and disconnected from the outside world?

It certainly can.

These feelings are perfectly normal, and you can embrace them in the same way that you are learning to embrace this season.

When you're called within during an uncertain and unstable season of your life, the simplest thing you can do to ground yourself is to focus on your breathing.

You can silently say "I am here" as you breathe in deeply and slowly and "I relax and receive" as you breathe out.

Coming back to your breath and surrendering to what is in this moment helps you to sink more deeply into the present to anchor yourself.

Keep breathing deeply until you feel centered and secure.

Come back to your breath as often as you need to.

Once you feel more centered and present, it's easier for you to enjoy the beauty that's all around you.

You are connected to all of life even when you are called to go within.

You are deeply supported as you surrender to this season.

You are whole and complete.

Nothing is missing.

Nothing is broken.

You are right where you are meant to be.

You can embrace this season and find rest in it rather than resisting it.

Allow the love that you are to fill you and surround you in the warmest hug. 💜

So much love to you,

P.s. If you are a woman who would like to learn about embracing the changes in your cycle, I love the book Wild Power by Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Wurlitzer. These ladies also wrote a book for women who want a greater understanding of the wisdom of menopause called Wise Power. Finally, Energy Medicine for Women by Donna Eden has some great hands-on techniques for keeping your energy flowing during any phase of your cycle.
