Happy Friday, friend! 💜
Today we're going to be talking about how to deal with disappointment when it arises.
Have you ever had a big dream and you were so excited about it until things started falling apart and not going according to plan?
I have had many such instances in my life, and the most recent one was my book launch.
I was doing all the things that I felt led to do, I was showing up in new places to talk about my book, and I was visualizing selling hundreds of copies in the first week.
I dream BIG just like I encourage you to do. 😁
Well, let's just say that I didn't sell anywhere near hundreds of copies in the first week.
At first, I was incredibly sad and disappointed since I did all the "right" things to manifest a successful launch.
For a split second, I wanted to throw in the towel and give up my dream of being a bestselling author.
I thought, "What's the point if it's going to be this hard?"
But then I was ready to surrender.
I was ready to shift my perspective, release my timeline, and celebrate the success that I did achieve.
I was ready to be incredibly grateful for the 9 people who invested in themselves by buying my book.
(If you were one of those 9 people, thank you SO much!!! 💜)
I was ready to be proud of myself simply because I did the damn thing and became a published author. 🎉🎉🎉
Often, when we set big goals for ourselves, we forget to celebrate all of the small wins that are important stepping stones on our journey.
We can choose to be frustrated by how far we still have to go to reach our desired destination (the GAP), or we can be thankful for how far we've come (the GAIN).
We can appreciate all of the love and support that we have around us in this moment no matter how far we still have to go to reach our destination.
The key to living your best life is to live from a place of appreciation for what you've already accomplished.
You are AMAZING, and you've done some incredible things in your lifetime!!! ❤️
Don't discount the magic that you are simply because you haven't achieved your next big dream yet.
I am choosing to be so incredibly thankful for those 9 people who bought my book while also being excited about each new book sale that I will receive in the future.
No win is too small to celebrate.
I'm still going to be a bestselling author one day.
I guarantee it. 😀
Celebrate the baby steps that you take towards your dreams, release the timeline, and enjoy the journey.
You're going to get where you're going eventually.
Do you want to arrive frustrated and disappointed or do you want to arrive thankful and in love with your beautiful life?
The decision is yours. 💜
Much love to you,
Amber
P.s. If you want to learn more about living from the GAIN rather than focusing on the GAP, I highly recommend The Gap and The Gain book by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy. You can buy it here if you would like to gift me with a small commission at no extra cost to you.
