"The most powerful forces in the world are encouragement, celebration, and love."
Mel Robbins
Good morning, sunshine!
Did you have a restful weekend?
Thank you for pouring out your love and support for Chad and our family!
We feel your love, and your prayers are definitely working! π
Chad had the energy to take down our outdoor Halloween decorations yesterday, and it was good to see him up and about after several days of resting in his man cave.
Today I'd love to chat with you about celebrating each of the baby steps that you take towards living a more present, joy-filled life.
Each time you find something to appreciate when you're tempted to complain or any time you are willing to stay open and curious about something instead of raising your walls and barriers, you have reason to celebrate!
We think that we need to save our celebrations for those big moments in life when we get a raise or a promotion, when we buy a new house or have a baby, or when we complete a marathon, but what if every moment in life is meant to be a celebration?
How much more fun would your life be if you celebrated every little win?
Been trying to eat healthier and you chose a piece of dark chocolate for dessert instead of a whole box of cookies?
Celebrate!
Didn't feel like getting off the couch today but you found a short exercise routine that gave you more energy and strength?
Celebrate!
Wanted to sit and watch tv all night but instead chose to engage in a creative project that brought you joy?
Celebrate!
Felt like deflecting a compliment (because receiving is still uncomfortable) but decided to graciously receive it?
Celebrate!
Wanted to freak out about something that usually stresses you out but decided to go with the flow and trust life this once?
Celebrate!
Anytime you notice yourself being more present, more engaged, more open, more loving towards yourself, more thankful, and more in tune with your joy, it's time to break out the happy dance.
We spend so much time criticizing and judging ourselves, and it's about time that we start cheering ourselves on and finding reasons to celebrate.
Think of a reason to celebrate yourself and your life right now, find a mirror, and give yourself a high five!
Mel Robbins recommends giving yourself a high five in the mirror every single morning.
Can you imagine how much more fun your life would be if your best cheerleader and biggest fan followed you everywhere you went?
Did you have an uncomfortable but necessary conversation with someone?
That deserves a high five!
(The high five isn't for them unless they were particularly excited about the conversation. )
Did you listen to your body and tone down your exercise routine for the day?
High five!
Did you remember to ground yourself in the middle of a chaotic situation?
High five!
Did you look in the mirror and decide to not pick yourself apart for every little "flaw"?
High five!
Did you find something right about your life instead of obsessing about everything that's going wrong?
High five!
Did you ask for forgiveness for losing your patience with your significant other or child?
High five!
Cheering yourself on works a lot like appreciating something- the more you do it, the more life gives you reasons to keep on celebrating and appreciating your life.
So when you're tempted to make yourself wrong about something today, find a reason to celebrate you.
I know you're pretty awesome, and I know that there are many reasons that you could be celebrated.
So just pick one for right now.
Then break out the happy dance or the high five
and see how celebrating the little wins and the baby steps brings bigger things to celebrate.
You deserve to be celebrated every single day.
You are changing the world just by being in it, and that's worth celebrating!
I am sending you a high five from afar and doing my best happy dance.
Much love to you,
Amber
